CINI gets featured in the National Compendium on Women Friendly Gram Panchayat

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Govt. of India published A Compendium of Model Woman Friendly Gram Panchayats in the country – taking one Panchayat from each state.It is pretty heartening to note that in the publication on Model GPs, the one selected from West Bengal comes from Rangli Rangliot block of Darjeeling where CINI is implementing a key health and nutrition project for last three years with support from #axisbankfoundation. Smt Chandni Tamang, the Panchayat Pradhan of Tackling-I GP of Rangli Rangliot identified Health and Nutrition as the most critical challenge among women- specifically talking about maternal, child & adolescent health, nutritional deficiencies among women and children and widespread anaemia among adolescent girls.
